Autumn  has gracefully left and though winter is not 'officially' here yet, our winter appetites are on a schedule of its own.

 

Enjoy this tasty winter menu and come back in mid December for the holiday menu link! 

 

Try one of the soups, or  numerous vegetable dishes in the Recipe Collection or take a break from meat dishes and try the protein and calcium rich Winter Ragout of Mixed Mushrooms on a bed of Quinoa Pasta tossed with Butter and Parmesan..

Menus always include a protein/calcium rich non-meat  alternative to a meat dish.  Plenty of protein in the mushrooms and the quinoa pasta is a good source of calcium.

Tip:  as a vegetarian alternative, the leek soup is delicious without the chicken. Be sure to use a good vegetable stock as the base.

Pasta Tossed with Butter and Parmesan

 

Chicken Breasts in

Wine and Juniper Sauce

 

Pear and Apple Tartin with Rosemary and Cinnamon

Vegetarian Alternatives:

Leek Soup (as above but without the chicken)

Winter Ragout of Mixed Mushrooms and Vegetables on a bed of

Quinoa Pasta Tossed with Butter and Parmesan
